SUMMARY

I am a seasoned artist, designer, and manager with over a decade of experience in game design and development.  I am adaptable and inspired.  Since my start in 2001, I have had experience in project management, creative direction, art direction, character art, outsourcing management, concept art, UI design, marketing and branding, level design, and environment art.  To any project I work on, I bring a broad base of skills and experience across multiple disciplines.

On my own time, I design paper card games.  I also enjoy driving into the emptiness of the West with my Hasselblad.

EXPERIENCE

Creative Director, Lead Designer, Free Range Games

Sausalito, California — 2013-Present

Currently acting in a dual role in charge of all aspects of development for an original project for browser-based PC and iOS / Android phones and tablets.

Accomplishments

  • Conceived and developed an original game concept for mobile platforms.

  • Developed a production plan for execution in a 12-month schedule.

  • Managed a small pre-production team developing core assets and key concepts.

Sausalito, California — 2011-2013

Oversaw creative development across multiple projects and target platforms, including stand-alone PC, browser-based PC, and iOS / Android phones and tablets.

  • Developed creative vision for a  wide range of game styles and audiences.

  • Set a high graphical bar for mobile platforms.

Acted as primary artist on Characters and UI, from concept to implementation on browser-based PC and mobile platforms.

  • Created characters that pushed the graphical bar of browser-based PC games.

  • Collaborated with engineering to develop a new UI system for Unity.

Led a team of several artists to develop characters for current-generation console games.

  • Delivered a large cast of character models on-time and on-budget.

  • Worked extensively with outsourcing studios, providing direction and feedback.
